Captain Gabino still holds the record for largest
marlin ever landed in the East Cape Region of
Los Cabos. He battled this monster for 22
hours on a warm July day in 1991. During that
time the fish drug him over 63 miles!
If your coming here for a record fish, Gabino is
your man & En Caliente is your boat!
Gabino started fishing with his father as soon as he
learned to swim. He started his professional career
as a deck hand @ the age of 14 . The owners of
Hotel Punta Colorado were so impressed they gave
him his first boat and made him a captain at the age
of 18. Since then he has skippered many fine yachts
for Spa Buena Vista, Palmas de Cortez & all the
other Van Wormer Resorts. He and his wife own the
only fresh fish market here in Los Barriles offering
some of the finest freshest seafood ever.
